 H5N1
So apparently no one gives a shit about the H5N1 virus. Even though it could be a worldwide health catastrophe no one is doing anything to prevent this virus from spreading across the world.
Presidents ignore the issue because they know nothing about it, I mean there is not much they can do but at least they could take some action by letting people know, they could tell the media to aware people about it, it seems like they are waiting till we start hearing about thousands of people dying from an unknown disease that we never heard of to excuse themselves, but the truth is that we've known about this virus since 1918 , there were three worldwide outbreaks of the flu back in 1918, 1957 and 1968. We need to start learning from our past.
As you know this virus changed, their genes changed, sometimes human and bird virus exchange genes, when the bird virus acquires genetic changes it allows human to human spreading, that's what scientifics across the world fear is happening as you read this.
So far the flu has killed 59 people in Asia who contracted the virus from contact with domestic or wild birds.
The WHO has warned that the risk of a bird-flu pandemic is at its highest since a 1968 outbreak, and that 2 million to 7.4 million people could die in a pandemic.
I think it's time for Presidents to start hearing those who know about the issues, those who know about public health, and do something.
